In brief: survey says Budget must target poor

A YouGov poll for Save the Children suggests more than a quarter of voters want to see this week’s Budget targeting help for the poorest families. The survey of more than 2,000 people found 22% also wanted the poorest families protected from cuts to services or financial support, while nearly a fifth (19%) called for an increase in child benefit and tax credits.
