Our actions speak as loudly as our words
As a social enterprise we purchase from other social enterprises and from the community and voluntary sector whenever possible. We welcome relevant sales calls from organisations who understand our business and our needs; if your call is relevant and we have a need for your product or service we will always try to give you the opportunity to tell us about what you offer either by telephone, by email or post.
However, please note:
- our own offices are in a social enterprise managed workspace so we have no need to purchase water coolers, telephones, franking machines; we have mobile phone and photocopier contracts that we have benchmarked and are extremely happy with. Please do not call about these services;
- we have negotiated our print contracts with our 2 main suppliers, both of which are chosen for their exemplary environmental policies; their customer service to us; and our negotiated terms. We only review our print contracts annually. Our own print contracts enable us to provide a design and print service that saves our clients money - more here
- we always seek to purchase goods and services that are produced and delivered under conditions whereby: employment is freely chosen; working conditions are safe and hygienic; child labour is not used; living wages are paid; working hours are not excessive; no discrimination is practised; and environmental impacts and unnecessary energy use are minimised. We expect our suppliers to work within the spirit of a clear, transparent and ethical supply chain and we ask suppliers to sign up to the terms of our ethical purchasing policy.
